About the Department

The Department of ECE has its origin in the year 2001. The department offers BE programme and 2 ME programmes (Communication Systems and ECE) with a vision to produce globally competent professionals. The department has highly qualified and rich experienced faculty members coupled with younger talents and supporting staff. Within this 15 years of existence it has achieved several milestones in its widespread academic activities which includes securing appreciable count of university ranks consistently every academic year.

The department builds competent young professionals by sharpening their talents through various club activities. Nearly 11 clubs like Women Empowerment Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Short Film and Media Club, Literary Club, Music Club, Fine Arts Club, Community Radio, Project Club, Career Guidance Club, Paper Presentation Club, and Quiz Club are vibrant in the department to feed the need of the students. To enhance the research culture among the faculty members and students of the department, nearly 4 research groups like Communication and Networking, Signals and Image Processing, VLSI and Embedded systems are actively functioning. The department has 4 well experienced Ph.D. holders and 13 faculty members on the track of completion of Ph.D. A centre of excellence laboratory in Embedded systems is created to meet out the current industrial needs in terms of training, value added courses and projects. The students are also provided with an opportunity of industrial exposure through Industry Institute Partnership Cell by means of internship, Industry Projects, industrial visits etc.
A knowledge sharing and upgrading options are provided through various technical events like Symposiums, Conferences, workshops, seminars etc. A vision on higher education and career is created through career guidance program and Entrepreneurship Cell . With an aim of building professionals with social responsibilities they are indulged in eco social club, NSS activities. The students are given international recognition by including in the professional bodies like IETE, ISTE etc. The department involves in continuous improvement activity by interacting with national agencies like AICTE, CSIR etc.

Program Specific Outcome (PSO)

  • Graduates will be able to disseminate the knowledge in Electronics and Communication Engineering towards Technical Incubation.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering provided with well equipped Research centre, staff rooms, sufficient class rooms and laboratories.

Department Library

A well equipped library is functioning in the department in addition to the central library catering to the needs of the faculty, students and research scholars. The department library has a total of 348 books with 126 titles. Project reports done by final year students are stacked in the department library.


The department of ECE adding to its glory has seven well equipped laboratories to enrich the practical skills of the student. The basic ELECTRONICS Laboratory has been accommodated such that the students can experience the fun of Electronics by doing experiments with discrete components. The MICROPROCESSOR AND SYSTEM DESIGN Laboratory is equipped with latest ARM development board, EPROM Programmer, Peripheral Interface Boards, Basic to Advanced Microprocessor and Microcontroller kits. The complete Embedded system based design facilities are available .The COMMUNICATION Laboratory is enriched with modern analytical equipments through MODROB scheme of AICTE. The latest suit of spectrum analyzers, SDR kits and Network analyzers of this laboratory serves the need of current research trends. The MICROWAVE AND OPTICAL LABORATORY includes microwave components in the frequency range of 8.2 to 12.4 GHz. It also includes Fiber optic communication transmitter/receiver kits to facilitate optical communication learning.

The LINEAR INTEGRATED CIRCUITS Laboratory has been established to help the students to soil their hands in analog and Digital Integrated circuit design. Two software Labs namely SIMULATION LABORATORY I AND SIMULATION LABORATORY II includes modern software tools for system design and analysis. The software tools include XILINX, CADENCE and MULTISIM. The FPGA kits like SPARTAN and CYCLONE II are available to suit the need of VLSI design Laboratory. The latest version of MATLAB package is available for Digital Signal Processing Laboratory. Both the simulation Laboratories have appreciable count of Personal computers linked in the LAN structure with internet facilities. The LCD Projectors are available to facilitate smart class implementation.
